Mary Baron is a Professor of English at the University of North Florida, teaching literature and creative writing. Her books are Letters for the New England Dead (Godine, 1974); Wheat Among Bones (Sheep Meadow, 1980) and Storyknife (Sheep Meadow, 2009). She has also published extensively in magazines and journals. She currently volunteers, teaching writing to juveniles held in the downtown jail.
