The Teen Fiction Writers Only Workshop is scheduled for all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
This workshop is for teens ages 13-19 only. It is a hands-on writing workshop with some critique designed for young writers.
Here’s a note from workshop leader Adrian Fogelin to teen students:
Bring a sample of writing with you to share with the group. It can be anything: a poem, short story, journal entry, and/or a piece of nonfiction writing. No pressure. Your writing samples will give us a place to start our discussion.
Most of our time will be spent doing a hands-on writing workshop. In the course of our time together we will develop solid central and secondary characters, settings, and plot as we examine the nuts and bolts of fiction writing. Although we will focus mainly on Realistic Fiction, there will also be exercises in fantasy/science fiction writing.
You are guaranteed to painlessly pick up new skills while having a good time. Your writing will be critiqued by me, and occasionally by peers, in an honest, and supportive environment.
